tonight, I spent some time putting together my supplies for soul comfort. if you're not familiar with soul comfort, it's the newest brave girls club class. you can see my post about it here.
you can see the supply list here.
I printed the list and started checking things off.
I pulled out my box of embroidery floss. I've had this thing forever and I don't think I've ever actually used it.
the supply list says choose atleast 6 colors. okay, how about all of it? lol... I tossed the denim pocket and canvas squares on top and called it good...
next up, an art journal and a journal, so I ordered a strathmore visual journal and a moleskine classic notebook. then, there was the scissors issue. the only pair of scissors I have left in my studio are my tim holtz ones - not happenin'... so, I found these sew creative ones. I grabbed my prismacolor watercolor pencils - figured i'd throw a waterbrush pen and a travel pack of wet wipes in my bag as well. last, but not least, markers - yea, the only markers I had were my pitt artist big brush pens - again, not happenin'... i managed to find a pack of these faber castell pitt artist pens in pastels - love the pinks and blues!
now, lest someone think i'm completely insane for spending that much money, please keep in mind, i had a very good reason. what's that you ask? i've been meaning to put together a sort of "art studio to go" for a long time - this just gave me the perfect opportunity to actually do it. seriously, though, i hate packing and unpacking, so now i won't have to. i'll still have all of my supplies in my studio and my bag to take with me wherever i go.
moving on to more pressing issues - what am i going to do about a bag to put all this stuff in? well, i found an old white canvas tote in my closet. i have some plans for it - we'll just put it that way. if you're interested, keep an eye out for that post in the next few days or so.
so, what online class have you taken lately and what did you think of it? leave me a comment and let me know. i'd love to hear about it. i'm always looking for new things to try. lol...
